IP Telephony

Modern network architecture has simplified call handling over existing data networks. By substituting IP Telephony network cards for standard ethernet cards in users PC's, high quality telephone calls can be made on the network. The network connects to the telephone company for service through a gateway computer with CO trunk cards that can be distributed across the network to provide local telephone access at all network locations. Stations without computers can be served by a central networked PC with multiline cards and standard telephone cable.

Key Benefits

[Bullet] Easy telephone administration.
[Bullet] Low cost for new telephone systems.

[Bullet] Can phase in as network grows.
[Bullet] No need to maintain separate wire infrastructure.
[Bullet] No long distance charges to networked remote locations.

Capabilities

Telephone experience
Operated an airport telephone system including private phones, public phones, pay phones, shared use phones, elevator phones and special use phones. Designed cable system when PBX was installed and when system was expanded. Programmed PBX for moves, additions, and changes.

IP Telephony experience
Installed and operate a small office network with voice over IP similar to this functional layout.

[IP Configuration]

IP Network experience
Coordinated design and installation of a fiber based backbone ATM switched airport LAN. The network will carry data for business systems, operational systems, and passenger information systems. It can easily be expanded to carry voice and video data, and be the base for shared airport tenant systems.
